DAY - 27 ABSENCE MAKES THE HEART GROW FONDER

I AM BACK! The new and improved Brian with 50% more acquisition training. Ok, well maybe not too much improved, but certainly less stressed. I was feeling pretty crappy by Monday afternoon and was trying to find the strength to go on. I felt like the week would never end and thoughts were filling my mind that something horrible was going to happen while I was away. I played out every scenario, who to call, if I would return to finish the training. I was starting to despair and felt like maybe I should have rescheduled the training and wait another 8 to 12 months before I could take it.

Then my phone rang... What could be wrong? It's too early in the week...

Turns out that it was my long time friend Chris who now lives in the town where I had to do my training for work. He took care of me this week and helped me make it through the week without going insane. Thanks Chris. God gives us good friends for a reason.
Proverbs 27:17 (NKJV) As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.

Ok, enough about my week. Leila and Logan were doing well today. They took Logan off the ventilator and put him on CPAP yesterday afternoon and as of this writing he is still off the ventilator (about 30 hours). Leila is also looking better. Her color is looking much better (more pink and less grey/white-ish). The Nurse also indicated that she could hear some bowel sounds. It's not official, but that would mean that she has intestines and that they might be starting to work. Keep praying that God will continue to heal her. They also took the drain tube out of Leila's side which is a huge step in the right direction.

Absence certainly makes the heart grow fonder. There were only three people I wanted to see today. I'll give you three guesses, but you'll only need one. And the two little ones have grown so much in the past week.

Amie's mom made some pretty awesome blankets for them. We put them on top of their incubators until we can actually use them.

  3. This is such awesome news. We will praise God with you over this progress and continue to pray for further healing and growth. I wanted to share this verse that was on a card sent to us. "Now glory be to God, who by His mighty power at work within us is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of - infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes." Ephesians 3:20 TLB I found this to be very encouraging.
